Winter is Well on It's Way!

With temperatures below "0" this week, were're pretty sure winter is well on it's way! Although we don't have snow right now in Haugan, forecast shows we should get 6-8 inches over the next three days...

It's A New Day... and can you believe 2009 is almost history? It's even harder to realize that we have been in Montana for six months and serving in the West Valley for five months. My how time flies when you're in the midst of God's kingdom work & having fun!

We have been approved as Mission Service Corp Volunteers through the Southern Baptist Convention. Alan is a new pastor and also considered a Church Planter because of our work in St Regis. We are so very grateful for Sam Birky (Glacier Southern Baptist Associational Mission Director) and Dave Howeth (Church Planter Team Leader for the Montana Southern Baptist Convention). These two men have helped us above and beyond the "call of duty" since we arrived, been a tremendous encouragement, and fastly becoming good friends!
Rejoice With Us... as things continue to go well in St Regis. We have had as many as 13 in our Youth Bible Study and continue to plan for an official launch date for services possibly in January. We still need to do a Postal Patron mail out to advertise throughout the community. The Youth have selected the name "LIGHT:Piercing the Darkness" and are excited about helping with the services through skits and music. Please continue to pray that God will make a way where there seems to be no way!

Giving Thanks... In Haugan we continue to build relationships and meet needs as the Lord allows. We were able to put together and deliver Thanksgiving baskets for three needy families on Nov. 21st. We also served Turkey with all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day at The Dollar Hotel for travellers between noon and 2 pm. We served over 20 individuals with some left over and to spare! We met truck drivers from all over the country. They were very surprised to find the Dollar Restaurant closed, but a free full meal offered to them. Six others from the community came through and enjoyed the fare. We also delivered meals to 4 individuals in the community who were in need. It was a blessed day indeed!
Celebrate With Us... over the gifting of a 2002 Ford Excursion for us to drive! Can you believe it? PRAISE THE LORD, HE answered this need above and beyond what we could even ask or think! HE is so faithful to use HIS people to provide for HIS ministry! And we THANK YOU, LORD.

Please Pray With Us...
  • Roger, Ray, Bonnie, Pat, Wendy, Chris, Troy, Tom, Sue, Ricky, Glen -- to name a few
  • That the conviction of God's Spirit would sweep through this valley like a fire storm...
  • A Possible School Assembly/Event with Ken Freeman
  • Provision for St Regis Mail Out and its reception by the community
  • A movie Premiere for "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry" in Haugan & St Regis
  • BIG NEED for wisdom as we prepare for mission groups to come work this summer
  • Provision for propane supply during winter/winter boots/dehumidifier for trailer
  • For the Lord to continue to increase our monthly support through His people
  • Please remember Alisha as she works in Uganda (especially during the holidays so far away from family), and Alana as she is making some changes right now and continues to serve her local church.

More Good News To Share

COMMUNITY CENTER IN ST REGIS—Alan met with the board, shared the plans for the Bible Study and Church services, requested use of the community center through the winter and they agreed to let us use it through February for $20 per week. Then in March they will re-evaluate. So, this is answered prayer, but we have yet to receive funding for the new church start! We are just moving forward as God opens the door… so, pray with us for the funds to continue this work.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY—The Beth Moore study is just going so well! Sharon, Cathy O, Carola, Joyce, Sue, (Cathy S when she doesn’t have to work) and I are having a great time of discussion, video viewing, and fellowship! God is so good… even if… It’s Tough Being A Woman!!!

SKIRTING FOR WINTER—Getting the skirting on the trailer… propane tank was installed and waiting for a fill up this week! So, we are getting in pretty good shape... it's been snowing lightly yesterday and today--but it shouldn't come to stay until end of November! We'll see...

VEHICLE—We are fervently praying for a reliable vehicle to drive and it would be BEST if the Lord would provide this without adding to our monthly expenses! Hey, what is impossible with man, is more than possible with God!

MONTHLY SUPPORT—We are so thankful that God has moved five new individuals/families to join our monthly support team! Please continue to pray that God will increase our monthly support in order that we may be able to meet our basic needs. Currently we are receiving 41% of what we need each month. Obviously, some one time gifts have come through which have kept us in pretty good shape as of Oct 13. A church in Tulsa graciously sent a generous gift which enabled us to get up to date on our health insurance, so we have not lost it! PTL!

SOULS FOR PRAYER: We continue to pray that God’s convicting Spirit will sweep this valley like a fire storm! As we continue to meet new people and build relationships, join us in praying for this dark valley. Please remember Roger, Tom & Sue, Chuck & Debbie, P.J. & Robin… just to name a few.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”
Psalm 34:19

God Just Keeps On Blessing...

Chris, April & Sue

We had three more pray to receive Christ and make it public! And remember the lady who dropped by the church to meet Alan and then came to Bible Study? Sue made a profession of faith! Then remember the young couple who moved to St Regis and have been coming to services? They both made professions of faith, too! Hallelujah! Remember Roger? He was in services, but is still not ready… please keep praying for him!

We celebrated three more baptisms Oct 4th…

Sharon Terry

Chris & April Colon

The youth in St Regis are really great… we are launching the new church start there on November 8th @ 6 PM in the St Regis Community Center. Please pray for this newest venture.

As you can see, there is MUCH to pray about, not to mention the souls of folks here who desperately need to know Jesus.

It's a New Day.

AN AMAZING WEEK IN HAUGAN, MT

Well, maybe “amazing” isn’t quite the word for it—perhaps astounding would be more appropriate! So, what could happen in a week? Oh, my goodness!

Let’s begin with last weekend…

Saturday. We were on our way to the Annual Associational Meeting in Missoula. Got into town with the address on our GPS, but got the message “the route is not in our library” type message. Anyway, we were on Stephens looking for the church and watching street signs. Came to a 4 way stop… we both thought… and proceeded, but it was a two-way stop and of course the guy with the right of way didn’t even slow down, didn’t honk or even try to brake… whatever… he hit our left front wheel and bumper. The big F350 didn’t really budge, but he was going fast enough that the front section is somewhat re-aligned! Everyone was ok physically, praise God! The young guy was in a little Subaru, so we were pretty worried about him! But we only have some bruises and are feeling really sick at heart about the whole thing because we were scheduled to take the trailer in for some work before winter and it took two months to get that appointment! Thank the Lord for insurance! Then the policeman (who was really very nice) gave us a ride to the church where we were obviously late to the meeting. Alan thought it was really funny that I had to ride in the back seat, behind bars! (Personally, I didn’t think it was THAT funny!) When we got to the meeting, one of the state leaders gave us a car to borrow until we can get things settled.
Sunday. We had good services. Alan has started a series in Matthew. We had three new folks attend—Chris, April, & Adam! That is always positive, although several of our “regulars” had to work. We still had 12 in attendance! Then in the afternoon we had to dismantle the trailer and pack what we would need for this week while the trailer is being worked on.
Monday. The tow truck was ready to hook up to the trailer by 8 AM. We had been up since 6 AM getting last minute stuff packed into a borrowed car and “breaking camp”. I can’t tell you how strange it felt to be standing with the clothes on our backs, a few possessions in the borrowed car, watching our “house” drive down the highway without us! (I “heard” loud and clear—when I AM all you have, I AM all you need.)
Tuesday. We woke up and realized we were just pretty tired and exhausted--Then thought about the last three days… another chapter in the book, I say!

ON TO BETTER THINGS… Tuesday morning, two ladies came to the church to see it and meet the new Pastor after receiving the introductory letter we mailed a week or so ago! Sue and Dolly were certainly a surprise blessing.

Now, here’s a bit of trivia that one of the “old timers” in Haugan just shared this week. Until this church was built 5 years ago, it had been 80 years since any Christian ministry had been in the valley. Did you get that? 80 years! My dear father is 80+ years of age. I cannot even imagine him spending his entire life without going to church or even hearing about the love of Jesus! For more than a generation, this valley has been without any hint of the Light of Christ! In the early 20’s there had been a circuit riding preacher who came through every three to four weeks… but then nothing for 80 years… think about it! This astounded us completely!

Services this morning (20th) were really good. We had 12 in attendance with another new couple and the young couple (Chris & April) who visited last week returned! Yeah! They got moved to St Regis on Friday. The new couple, Chuck & Dawn, have previously been in a motorcycle ministry and Chuck talked with Alan about opening a chapter here. So, that’s something else to pray about!

This next week one of our core members is having a breakfast for her entire family on the day of memorial services for her brother (24th). The church is going to cook and serve the breakfast to the family. When she shared this at the Silver Dollar, people were very surprised that the church would do that! Something we consider normal is unheard of in this valley!!!

Then finally, we started our Bible Study in St Regis this afternoon with seven youth in the city park! We hosted a Pizza Kick Off to get acquainted and get to know them. These were really great teenagers! We were so impressed with their spirits and attitudes. There were 2 Seniors, 1 Junior, 1 Sophomore, 2 Eighth Graders, and 1 Seventh Grader. So, they covered the scope of classes pretty well. Please pray for this group of young people as they make a stand to live for Jesus!

PLEASE PRAY ALSO for a location for this group to meet. Last week the school board tabled the request for use of the cafeteria until next month. The Superintendent was surprised at their response, although we were not. So, we are still looking for a place to meet.

One of our dear friends we’ve known since college days, just wrote a special blog featuring New Day Network Ministry. We really appreciate every effort being made for our support. Take a look at http://aintsobad.typepad.com/ featuring the ministry of Alan and Sarah Damron. We want to thank Rick for his letter and monthly support--and encourage you to continue to pray for our monthly support. It seems to be a never ending—every day issue now and one of which we just believe God is going to take care. Somehow we have got to figure out a way to communicate this very real need, the vision of reaching this 33 mile valley for Christ in such a way that more people will step up and help fund this ministry. We are praying that the truck will be “totaled”, so our Gap insurance can pay it off and we can find something less expensive. The insurance adjuster is evaluating the truck now. Hopefully we will find out something this week. Now that we will not be driving the trailer all over creation, it is not so vital that we have the F350.

Pray like you’ve never prayed before!!!!

It’s a New Day,

MONTANA SUMMER UPDATE

SUMMER SLIPS AWAY!!!

As our summer winds down in Montana, we celebrated this Sunday (30th) with the interim pastor, Andrew Goodwin. He and his family came for the weekend, morning services, and a potluck lunch. We had 20 in attendance and joined in bidding him God-speed. Alan was in Great Falls leading a Relational Evangelism Conference and one of our regular ladies was out. But, even at that, we had four new faces including two youth from St Regis in the services. Praise the Lord!

Andrew & Wanna Goodwin
Jasmine, Cameron, Heather, & Chad

Here in Montana the ladies know how to put on the feed!!! We all had a great time at the potluck visiting, eating more than we should and just enjoyed some good fellowship…

(l to r) Chris, Jeremy, Kathleen, Sam, Ethan & John

(l to r) Vern, Andrew, Pat, Joyce & Wanna

The Relational Evangelism Conference was held at First Southern in Great Falls (Aug 29-30). Alan was excited to teach 16 Saturday night, 40+ during Bible Study hour, and 80+ in worship on Sunday morning. One 30 yr old lady came up to him with our old “Meet The Master” album cover on Saturday! She had heard us back in the early 80’s and still remembered--What a hoot! During the worship hour, the Pastor baptized a young man whose father was in attendance for the first time, so Alan threw in as much Gospel as he could. After the service this man told Alan he had never heard anything like it before. So, we are praying for him to come to know the Lord—and hope you will join us on his behalf. God continues to do a new work in First Southern Great Falls, we need to pray for their ministry as well.

Last night the Lord brought opportunity to contact a new family by phone in DeBorgia. New Day was able to help a young single father with 3 children in hopes of building a relationship there. Please pray for Joey and his young children.

This week we are sending out a Postal Patron letter to all the boxes in Haugan and DeBorgia about New Day Fellowship. Please pray for God to use this piece to draw men, women, and families to Himself and to New Day. Also, please pray specifically for the following:
Sept 13 4:30 PM NEW CHURCH START in ST REGIS
Sept 22 6:00 AM Men’s Breakfast begins weekly thru Nov 17
Sept 22 6:30 PM Women’s Bible Study weekly thru Nov 24
Oct 1 11:30 AM Senior Adult Luncheon weekly thru Nov 19

A NEW BEGINNING

There is so much to tell you… we just had a pretty incredible week! We are still trying to catch our breath!!!

Monday we took a day off to drive to Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. Not only was it a beautiful drive (about 1 hr) but it is a beautiful city! It will be one of our fabulous faves!

When we got home we got a call from Joyce Goodenough who is Chris’s grandmother. The teenage boy that was saved during our second service at Haugan in July! At first she did not want Chris to be baptized, but she called to say that after the study on Sunday morning she had changed her mind and that she and Michael wanted to be baptized, too. So, Alan asked her why? And he was able to go through the gospel and bring her to a point of receiving Christ as well! So, we made plans for 3 baptisms this morning.

Then last night Joyce calls again and indicates that Michael is not too sure if he is really saved. So, he met with Alan this morning early and sincerely prayed to receive Christ as well. HALLELUJAH—THE ANGELS ARE HAVING A PARTY!!!! And we are REJOICING!

Not only that… on Friday we were honored to take our dear friend, Vern Herman, to Plains for outpatient surgery. Then Alan drove back to St. Regis for an appointment with the new superintendent of schools there before returning to pick us up again. Mr. Lowe is a believer and wants to let as many groups as possible use the school facilities, so he sent an application for New Day Fellowship-St Regis to fill out as a request to use the school cafeteria as our first meeting place to start the work there. Of course, the board has to vote and approve this, but Mr. Lowe was very supportive! So, please pray for this open door…

GOD is so good. We continue to meet folks in the area every day it seems! There is much to do, but we are taking one step at a time, trying to stay in cooperation with God and His work, and watching Him do amazing things!

We are still asking God to meet our financial needs for August… our monthly support continues to be our greatest challenge at this point. However, we have several specific needs in preparation for winter which will be costly, including a $500 tag for the truck and winterizing the trailer!

We love and appreciate each and every one of you!

Asking For Mountains!

Just have to give a brief report on our first weekend as official Pastor of the New Day Fellowship in Haugan, Montana!

On Saturday we received a call that one of Vern's neighbors had died of a heart attack at 5 AM! We are the ONLY church within a 32 mile stretch in this valley of any denomination--so later that day we went to meet Martha (not her real name), prayed with her for a minute. But she was still pretty much in shock. The family has no church background and will not even be having a memorial service. PLEASE pray for this widow and her grown sons.

Sunday we almost maxed out the church (40 chair capacity right now) with 33 in attendance!!!! Of course, 20 of those were from a family reunion. But, we believe God gave us a glimpse of what it CAN be! During the sermon introduction Alan asked if anyone could remember the first time they ever went to church... one young man raised his hand and indicated that his 6 yr old son was in church for the first time that morning! Amazing! One lady raised her hand during the invitation indicating that she had prayed to receive Christ. We will follow up on her this week! These mountains are so spiritually dark, it really is an amazing opportunity... God continues to confirm almost daily what He is calling us to do here...

With that in mind, I can't resist sharing this devotional from Henry Blackaby's "Experiencing God Day by Day":

"ASKING FOR MOUNTAINS"
"You heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said." Joshua 14:12

Caleb's faith in God never waivered, though everyone around him doubted. God convinced Caleb that the children of Israel should enter the Promised Land, but the people were intimidated by giants and fortified cities (Num. 13:28-33. Their disbelief forced Caleb to wait forty years in the wilderness before he finally entered the Promised Land. Even after all those years, Caleb was as confidant as ever in God's power.

When God was dividing the land among the Israelites, the people were asking for the lush valleys and grassy plains. Caleb asked for a mountain. The Israelites had driven their enemies into the mountains, where they had built fortresses. This did not intimidate Caleb, he asked for a challenge! He did not trust in his own strength but in God's presence. Caleb longed to see God work in power, and he knew he would be less likely to rely on God if he dwelt in the easy places. He chose a situation in which he would have to trust in God. Caleb knew his inheretance from God was on the mountain. He refused to allow the difficulty of gaining it to stop him from enjoying all that God had promised him.

If you always choose the easy way, asking for the peaceful valleys, you will never see God's power displayed to enable you to take a mountain. Seek out the mountains, and you will see God doing things through your life that can be explained only by His mighty presence.

Now how timely is that? Give us these mountains, Lord, and the valleys within them in Jesus name! Remove the strongholds and fortresses of gambling, substance abuse, and lack of the knowledge of You, we pray. Let Your Light and Love shine through our lives 24/7...

DAMRON'S MONTANA UPDATE July 2009

It is hard to believe that the month of July is now history!!! But, what a GREAT month we have had in the western mountains of Montana. We began with two weeks of pulpit supply at the West Valley Chapel in Haugan… more about this later.

THE WEBLEYS
(back: l-r) Sara, Melissa, & Jim
(front: l-r) Jared, Kristin

The following week we went to the Baptist Mountain Church in Noxon. This has to be one of the most beautiful areas in the entire US of A! The town is nestled between the Clark Fork River and the Cabinet Mountains. Bro. Jim Webley and his family are hard workers and received us with open hearts and open arms! We quickly established a special love for them and the work in Noxon. The services were good, but probably the highlight was our fellowship time with Bro. Jim and his family. One young girl came during a service to request baptism. Bro. Jim is going to follow up on her decision. We thank the Lord for this.

Alan with Pastor Cam Foote

This final week of July we spent in the city of Troy, noted for the lowest elevation in the state. However, it is only because it is located in a deep valley with huge mountains on either side! Bro. Cam and Cathy Foote are another precious couple we met with their two young children Sabrina and Raul. They have worked with foster care for many years and have several adopted children (Raul is the latest). God has blessed this work in a great way. Although we did not see a decision publicly, Bro. Cam believes a woman came to the alter to pray to receive Christ and he is going to follow up on that. Several of the members, told Alan they did not know what he was expecting when he came to Troy, but that the Lord had spoken clearly and strongly through the messages and their lives would never be the same! In the last two years they had gotten wrapped up in building the new building and had forgotten that it was really about people, not programs. But, actually they had seen 27 children in VBS pray to receive Christ just the week before. So they have been focusing on people, maybe they just desire to focus a little more. Prayerfully the seed of Revival has been firmly planted and the fruit will be evident in the weeks and months ahead. Thank you, Lord!

The “Fabulous Four”: Sharon, Corolla, Vern, Robin

Now the BIGGEST NEWS YET… last Sunday (July 26) the West Valley Chapel in Haugan MT voted to call Alan as Pastor. In their desire to issue the call, they also agreed to a complete re-start with a new name and everything! So, this Sunday (Aug 2nd) we are accepting that call and will base our New Day Network Ministry out of the New Day Fellowship in Haugan and re-launch the ministry here.

Haugan is located on the I-90 corridor which is 32 miles long with 5 communities and only one church of any denomination (New Day Fellowship)! We never dreamed God might give this kind of opportunity so quickly... and we never imagined an entire valley!!! NEW DAY NETWORK MINISTRY will be enhanced by this opportunity as we endeavor to reach an entire valley, in addition to helping any way we can in the other churches in Montana. This does not change the purpose or goal of NEW DAY, but expands it!!!

Please understand that these four active members have no way to financially provide for a full time Pastor, so our NEW DAY NETWORK support team will continue to be the resource for the work here, as we acknowledge God is our Source. Alan will be a full time pastor at New Day Fellowship in Haugan, and start a new work in St. Regis under the same name. Eventually Bible Studies will be established throughout the valley. The key to the work in St. Regis is that all children and youth in the 5 communities attend school there. A survey sent to us by the state of Montana showed 4,000+ people in a 20 mile radius of St. Regis. So there are several thousand folks to reach in this 32 mile stretch where there are 5+ bars-saloons-casinos and only one church. Please join us in prayer for these communities: St. Regis, Henderson, DeBorgia, Haugan, and Saltese. May the Lord bring Matt 4:16 to pass in this West Valley, “The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, Light has dawned.”

Some of you are monthly donors to our work. We are so grateful for your prayers and gifts. Yet, we seriously need others to join the financial support team on a monthly basis... will you help us reach this spiritually dark valley with the Light of Christ? Although with our current donors we have raised approximately 1/3 of what we need monthly, God has provided fully for June and July through some special gifts and VBS offerings. To HIM be ALL the GLORY!

Introducing our BIG SKY CLUB! This is a special group of donors who give $25 or more per month. We are asking God to lead 60 new donors to join the ones who are currently so faithful in giving. Would you share with your Pastor, Sunday School Class, and Missions Group asking them to consider supporting God’s work through us? All gifts are tax deductible. Make checks payable to: NEW DAY NETWORK MINISTRY and send to our NEW ADDRESS: PO Box 420013, Haugan, MT 59842.

For any information or questions, please feel free to call us at 406.546.7790. Thank you so much for your prayerful consideration.

Damron NEW DAY Update

July in Full Swing!!!

We made a quick trip to Casper WY… to meet Bret McKee and his group from FBC Saltillo. They were doing a great job on the construction there and the church is a blessed work.

College Heights Baptist, Casper WY

While in Casper, we had to get our trailer axle checked and two tires replaced, thanks to a special donation given for that purpose. Then we drove through the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone on our way to Montana… it was a breathtaking drive. Oh, and at the very top of the Grand Tetons, just before we began our descent the trailer brakes disconnected!!! What a joy—had to pull over and do some duct tape repair. Thank the Lord, it was BEFORE we started DOWN the mountain!!!

Dr. D and the Grand Tetons

Our first stop here in the mountains of western Montana was in Haugan at the West Valley Chapel. On Sunday the 5th we had services for four people in this beautiful little chapel that is a finished building and debt free. It is only 5 years old and even still smells new! Vern, Sharon, Corolla, and Robin were very receptive and received us warmly.

West Valley Chapel, Haugan MT

The four got the word out, and the Lord blessed with 16 in the room on the 12th. The spirit in the room was so sweet--1 teenage boy came to receive Christ, and another teenage boy prayed to get his life right with the Lord-- it was an exciting time together! Our prayers are beginning to be answered!!! Glory to God!

THE FAITHFUL FOUR: Sharon, Corolla, Vern, Robin

UPDATED PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. Spiritual Fruit –Please pray for a new babe in Christ this week, Chris (his family who all need to know the Lord!)
2. Tire problems-need two more tires for the trailer. Please pray that God will provide this need as well as increase our monthly support for basic needs.
3. Remaining July Ministry:
a. July 19-21 Baptist Mountain Church, Noxon (Revival)
b. July 26-29 Troy Community Baptist Church, Troy (Revival)
4. August Ministry: are still open, so please pray for God to open these doors for ministry… it looks like we will be returning to Haugan for at least three more weeks in August.
a. Aug 2 West Valley Chapel, Haugan MT
b. Aug 9 West Valley Chapel, Haugan MT
c. Aug 16 West Valley Chapel, Haugan MT
d. Aug 23 West Valley Chapel, Haugan MT

These are some of the things we are BELIEVING God for. What are YOU believing God for these days? Join with us in believing God for more souls. Christ could return any time!

Damron's Montana Update

Our first month on the road in Montana is now history. God has done some wonderful works of edification and encouragement in our lives and we believe also in the churches we have visited.

Our last stop in eastern Montana was at Prairie Baptist Church in Terry, MT. (So we were able to go back and stay with our dear friends at Teske Farms!) The five pews in this little church were almost packed, believe it or not! We set up Alan’s Mac and small speakers to play our background music and it worked fine for this set up.

There were several lively children in the services and the train whistles were perfectly timed during the music service! But, the message was clear and received with open hearts. This is a part-time field and Bro. John and his wife Jean come in on weekends to minister here. Pray for the Lord to bless and work in spite of the limitations they face.

July is now upon us! We praise the Lord for providing open doors and trust him for August and September… Keep praying!

UPDATED PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. Spiritual Fruit – although plenty of seed is being planted, we still desire to see people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! But, we know that is God’s doing, we are only to plant, hoe, water, and then harvest what He matures…
2. Trailer problems-need axle repair or alignment and two new tires on trailer (as we were formulating this email we got a call from a dear friend who insists on buying the tires for us. PTL!) But we have an appointment in the morning to find out about the axle—so pray it only needs alignment and will be cost effective.
3. July Schedule and Ministry:
a. July 5 West Valley Chapel, Haugan MT (pulpit supply)
b. July 12 West Valley Chapel, Haugan MT (pulpit supply)
c. July 19-21 Baptist Mountain Church, Noxon (Revival)
d. July 26-29 Troy Community Baptist Church, Troy (Revival)
4. August & September Schedules are still open, so please pray for God to open these doors for ministry…

These are just a few things we are BELIEVING God for. What are YOU believing God for these days? Join with us in believing God for souls.

If you get a chance, come on up, the weather is nice and pleasant!

MONTANA UPDATE

The Journey Begins!

The Lord could not have given us a better beginning on our summer here in Montana than with the family at FBC Circle. They received us with open arms and warm hearts. As a matter of fact, several families still had the old “Meet The Master” cassette we had back in 1980-83! This was a time of wonderful fellowship and encouragement. Please pray for these precious folks as they seek God and a new pastor in the weeks and months ahead.

Then we travelled just down the road to Terry, MT to visit briefly with some long time friends, Dennis & Rita Teske at Teske Farms before reporting to our second church for the summer. Once again, our hearts were refreshed with the fellowship of these fine folks. We just picked up right where we left off over 26 years ago!!! Their farm operation is impressive and in an incredibly beautiful location on the Yellowstone River. Their youngest son, Pat, and his family also reside on the farm and help with the operations.

Pat & Julie Teske (with their children Olivia and Wyatt); Rita & Dennis Teske

Until next time… we are “on the road with Jesus”… and…

There's Something Familiar About This Place!

The descent into Billings was not suppose to be familiar after 26 years, but that's exactly what it was, familiar. Pushed up against the ridged cliffs that towered over the north side of Billings, the city lay sprawled out as one long line of commerce and community. It was much longer than I had remembered and yet there was something very familiar to me. Sarah and I had not spent a great amount of time in the city during our Montana mission years ago, but having held several meetings here, revivals and passing through from time to time made the site of the city seem like getting acquainted with an old friend once again. I couldn't help but revisit old memories and the faces of people that filled our days here so very long ago. Wonder where Steve Phillips is now? And, where did Clark Henderson and his pastor, Don Jones wind up? I do know where Rusty and Mary Lou Hicks landed; we had just visited them in Blanco, Texas not that long ago. But let me think just a moment, did those sermons and visits so very long ago here in Billings really make an eternal difference back then. Was God and His kingdom much better off because we passed through here? I guess what I am really asking is if our time here and now will make an eternal difference in the lives of the people we encounter this time on our return trip to Montana. I guess the most familiar part of our return has nothing to do with landscapes and mountain scenery after all, it is in fact, the renewed burden for the people who have made this great state their home. It's good to be back.

The Mailbox

A Picture From the Past …
The small black-tin box was nailed on the front of our house right next to the front door. Let’s see … black box … bright yellow house … you couldn’t miss it. And even though we didn’t have one of those designer boxes stuck on a pole and ours was not encased in a brick edifice out on the curb, no matter, it worked just all the same, it brought mail from all over the world and in a variety of content. We had your normal stack of bills, magazines, and letters every now and then of course, junk mail galore.
Rarely did anything in our lives hold for us such a degree of anticipation! The mailman was faithful to deliver the mail about the same time each day, except Sunday. And even though us kids didn’t get hardly any mail at all it always seemed to hold a certain level of suspense to see what that little black box had for “The Damrons” with each passing day. Oh, my sisters and I were too young to understand most of the real mail, whether it brought good or bad news but I will never forget the day that my Roy Rogers Club Packet arrived with my name on it!
As I look back at my childhood mailbox days I remember that those daily mail runs were a great way to show us, things in life happened like it or not. I learned that the mailbox was not the place to blow up firecrackers, nor was it to be a constant source for worry. No matter what came, Mom was always quick to remind us that prayer was the answer. More than once, she told us that God was bigger than any news from a mailbox.

A Passage From the Book …
Philippians 4:6-7
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God: and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard yours hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

A Point to Ponder …
Whether it comes into your life by telephone, newspaper, television, the front door or even the mailbox, absolutely nothing should leave the believer in a worried state of mind!
Paul’s first response to the inside job of worry is to pray. We should get alone with God and pray adoring God through worship. Such praying will remind us that nothing is bigger than His watchful care for His children. Then, we must pray by letting Him know of our specific needs and requests. Yes, He already knows but He likes for us to come to Him alone in our time of need. Then, we should pray thanking Him for His faithful watch care over our lives. It is this kind of praying that thanks Him by faith for hearing and responding to our needs.
The results will be obvious, how we feel and what we think will be brought in line with His security for our lives. There is nothing like God, our Father, guarding our heats and minds!

A Prayer from the Heart …

“Father, You are Lord of my mailbox and every other area that ushers life into my heart. May my sole focus be continually upon you and thank you for Your constant care.”

The Day After Easter

There are several things for sure, the day after Easter; the colored eggs are not as brightly colored, the chocolate bunny will never walk or hear again, the new clothes will never be new again and the grass in the basket will never be back in the basket but still found in a multitude of places this time next year! Oh yes, and now that Easter has come and gone all the stores will start putting out their Halloween junk.

Unlike the fading effect of the Easter season, that gives way to the next holiday cycle, the reality of Easter will never lose it's eternal power to change lives! Jesus Christ is really the same yesterday, today and forever and after all He has much more to offer than your local mall.

When Jesus stepped out of the tomb it was as if He cried for all of eternity to hear, "It Worked"! God's plan for the redemption of lost humanity has been successfully accomplished through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. The resurrection of Jesus signaled the Father's acceptance of the sacrifice given. 1 Peter 3:18 states the unchanging truth like this ... "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God ..." And Romans 4:25 adds, "He who was delivered up because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification."

"The Day After Easter," is just another day ... the next day ... to tell your world that Jesus Christ is alive and waiting to be the answer for their lives. By the way, telling people of God's love will have a much greater impact if you show them God's love. Hey, it's back ... "Show and Tell!" ... go figure!

Happy Day After Easter!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Man what a great day...it is my 56th birthday and I just feel ... I feel my legs ... my feet ... as opposed to not being able to feel. But hey, I have joined a whole host of well-wishers on "my day" which include my wonderful wife ... Sarah, my magnificent daughters ... Alana and Alisha, a wide range of friends and other loved ones ... those in prison and those now out ...ain't life grand!?

And as the hits keep coming I spend some time with each persons' face flashing before me and I remember something we enjoyed or endured together. Where has the time gone and man didn't we have a fine time. What I wouldn't give to hear Bobby Martin make fun of my "golf" game again, not to mention just watching Eric Barron and Bret McKee drive around the golf coarse in a cart... together--and to laugh until it hurt with Terry White over the second and only time we would get up at 5:00 o'clock in the morning to run ...what were we thinking? I will never forget setting up the "gospel tent" with Steven Berry in Conrad, Montana to only be attacked by an official plague of killer mosquitoes, then of course, traveling to Brainard, Minnesota with that criminally insane youth group from Nederland, Texas to see once again Larry O'Conner get a speeding ticket, Craig Miller order and eat two full steak dinners at Bonanza and the look on the faces of that angelic group of teens as they saw the dirt-floored "cabins" we were to stay in all week long ... those were the days! Then, who wouldn't want to hear once again Ben Mc Connell and Curtis Petty have a highly intellectual discussion about anything--multitudes would often be dumb-founded at the depth of their insights. Could I ever forget the blizzard Sarah, Alana and I got caught in between Billings and Great Falls ... Alana was cutting teeth and we were snowed in with the screaming little darling for four longs days in a motel in Livingston. I will never forget the absolute joy I had watching my daughter Alisha and her prom date as the long white stretch limo pulled up in front of the house to take then for a night of unexpected luxury ... the best $600 dollars I had spent in a long time. And, finally, the endless times Sarah and I packed up ... set up ... packed up and set up ... in order share the gospel one more time ...wait, that's still happening!

Ok, I'm through with memory lane, but today's birthday is much more than one more year ... it's a lifetime of years and great memories. Little did mom and dad realize the indescribable gift of life they bestowed upon me ... and I'm not finished yet.

Then, if the day was not a blessing already, my heavenly Father woke me up early and gave me a brand new gospel message to share with people somewhere down the road. Thanks for the look back today heavenly Father, but thank You also for the look ahead ... it is a New Day! By the way, thanks Pepe... man's best friend, for your birthday wishes as well.

Friends Really Are Friends Forever!

As the miles add up and the towns appear in our rear view mirror we have come to realize the ever growing value of friendships that stand the test of time. Yes, there are some drawbacks to the constant call of the traveling evangelist but certainly equal to the constant motion are the hugs and smiles from those friends that await our much expected visit.

God has blessed Sarah and I with friends that are literally family to us as we have traveled through these past years of ministry. They have become to us our forever family of friends that we have laughed with...cried with...dined with and most important of all joined together with in doing Kingdom work by taking the Good News of Jesus Christ to one more person, one more church and one more town. Why just this past week I called and heard the voices of Dennis and Rita Teske. You would have thought we were still at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Havre, Montana planning the next VBS! We can't wait to drive up in there drive this summer in Montana and renew one of those forever friendships. Whether we are visiting with Steve Collier or Terry White in Austin, Texas or the Petty's in Willis, Texas or NaNa in Mobile, Alabama or the Emert clan in Springdale, Arkansas or the Bells out at Crossroads, Arkansas or Wayne and Reggie in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee or Dan and Kathy, Tom and Vickie just outside of Wichita, Kansas or Craig and Vickie in Briggs, Texas or Don and Jackie in Temple, Texas...and the list just goes on and on...well, it is just amazing how much each of these friends bring to our lives.

Thank you friends and if time down here allows us another visit I am sure we will pick up right where we left off...if not well then, what a time we will have forever with our Lord!

New Day Network Ministry Update

March 21.2009
Dear Friends, Family, and Support Team,
The New Day Network Ministry (NDN) continues to lay a foundation for the future and we want to update you on the progress. It is imperative you know from our hearts that a combined prayer effort is not just “preacher talk” with us, but a very vital and powerful part of the process. We are learning daily that God is inviting us to lay each and every aspect of this new endeavor under His watchful eye. So, let me begin first of all to invite you to agree with us in prayer in order that those who would casually or intentionally catch a glimpse of this work might clearly see God’s provision in it. Below is an outline sketch of our dream.
New Day Network (NDN) is a non-profit, evangelistic ministry led by Alan and Sarah Damron. The core values of this ministry are to evangelize, enrich and expand God’s kingdom work in the United States. While the focus of this ministry will be the state of Montana and other pioneer areas, Alan and Sarah will be available for any area within the coordination of their schedule.
NDN’s major emphasis will be three-fold:
1. Evangelism… will come in the form of personal evangelism, personal evangelism training, evangelistic rallies, festivals, and preaching services.
2. Enrichment… will be to encourage the local pastors, staff and churches through conferences, retreats, revivals, or to just come along side and offer prayer and practical support in the demands of their daily ministry.
3. Expansion … will adopt the understanding that additional churches must be planted in Pioneer Areas to expand the kingdom of God.
PIONEER PARTNERSHIPS
NDN’s developing program of Pioneer Partnerships will work in harmony with state, associational, and local efforts to plant new churches and strengthen existing ones. NDN will also work to enhance the outreach and effectiveness of each local church within its own scope of ministry. Please note and understand that we do not consider ourselves the “answer” for these areas, but our hearts have been drawn there since the day we left in 1983. It is our desire to come along side and assist in the work God is
already doing in these Pioneer states. For an insightful explanation of some of these works, go to the Montana State Baptist website (www.MTSBC.org) and click on the Montana Baptist which is the latest edition of their state newspaper.
Hopefully this will give you some indication of the overall direction in which we are moving. Before we leave, it is very important that we address the financial requirements for us to undertake this ministry. We are presently engaged in recruiting financial support in four major areas:
• Start Up Budget -This budget will provide necessary items such as new tires for the truck and trailer, CB radio, extra diesel fuel tank, a generator for the 5th wheel, incorporation and non-profit fees, promotional materials with postage, a small sound system, for example. Projected cost for this initial budget is $5,000 to $10,000.
• Personal Budget—This budget will cover auto, health and life insurance, food, truck & trailer payments, utilities, medications. Projected cost for this monthly budget is $4,500 to $5,000. At present we have approximately 25% of this amount pledged.
• Travel Budget—This budget will include costs for fuel for the truck and trailer, truck maintenance, and RV space rentals. This projected cost for this monthly budget is $2,000.
• Ministry Budget—This budget will cover items such as cell phones, internet card, computer, office supplies, postage, printed materials, and assistance for local church programs. The estimated cost for this monthly budget is $1,000 to $1,500.
At first glance this is a good deal of funding, but it represents a definite effort on our part to stream line all costs in order that we might go to any size church in any location without being hindered from lack of resources. The majority of the Pioneer churches are not able to support a full time pastor, much less bring in a guest for revivals and evangelism. So, our partnership with individuals, churches, and associations will enable us to serve without financial limitations.
So, how are we going to raise this money? We are inviting associations, churches, and people like you to join our financial support team on a monthly basis at whatever level is possible. Please understand that all gifts are significant and will be a direct investment in God’s eternal work in the Pioneer states. With the soon established board for NDN, all gifts will be carefully administered, directed, and reported regularly. Until we are able to get the incorporation and non-profit status for NDN, your gifts can be sent to: New Hope Fellowship, PO Box 6100, Springdale, AR 72766. It is important that you mark “DAMRONS” in the memo line of your check.
As these budgets are definitely needed now, we will be praying with you about God’s direction and your partnership with us. With that in mind, not only do we need a growing support team, we also have an ever-growing prayer support team. So, let us hear from you. What can we pray with you about? We are constantly encouraged by your notes, letters, and phone calls. We have just started a new blog at http://newdaynet.blogspot.com. And if you haven’t joined our Facebook page, we invite you to do so today. If you have any questions, please contact us at 512.669.6832 or alandamron@mac.com. Meanwhile, we anticipate your response to our invitation for prayer and financial support.
Of all the things the world needs today, it desperately needs Jesus. May we all be missionaries taking the Good News of His Gospel to the world where we live.
It’s A New Day,
Alan & Sarah Damron

"Good Morning Lord!" or "Good Lord, It's Morning!"

So a new day has dawned and with it the opportunity to trust God for every step you take or try to take those same steps in your own strength. Unfortunately, we have short memories to such a degree that we cannot remember even to the previous day's disasters simply because our pride prevented us from calling out to God for His mercy and direction.
Henry and Richard Blackaby state in their "Experiencing God Day By Day" the following: "Pride will tempt you to think that you do not need God's assistance. Self-regard will seek to convince you that you can handle your dilemma through your own wisdom, resources, and hard work. Pride will rob glory from God and seek to give it to you!"
You don't have to wait for a train wreck to call upon God. Why not just begin the day today acknowledging your utter dependence upon Him alone for the direction and provision you will need for the day? Just think, the world needs to see God's provision in and through your life to be reminded that He exists and wants to become their all in all as well.
I really like this reference from His Word: "Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim the Good News of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples." (Psalm 96:1-3)
"Good Morning Lord...I am singing!" After all..."It's A New Day!"

It's A New Day For The Damrons!

Dear Friends, Family and Support Team,

Anyone who knows us well understands that the landscape for our ministry has changed from time to time. Once again we are facing a new direction for our ministry.

Due to our forced departure from Sudan, Thirst No More has been compelled to return to a skeletal staff which does not include me. Honestly, for the past three months the Lord has been dealing specifically with me in regard to my call to preach the Gospel. The strong exhortation from 2 Timothy 4:5 to “do the work of the evangelist, fulfill your ministry”, plus the departure of TNM have given me clear confirmation to return to my calling and first love of evangelism. Please let me assure you that Craig Miller and Thirst No More remain close to my heart. As a matter of fact, Sarah will continue as Business Administrator for TNM.

Sarah and I have concluded that among many other blessings, TNM has enabled us to make the transition from a typical church structure back to a travelling itinerate ministry. We are reminded of the time in May 1980 when we began this “on the road” ministry and how this is in our blood.

So, what does all this mean? It will mean a new non-profit organization for us to be established as soon as possible. It will mean the need for opportunities to preach. It will be our intention to potentially return to Montana for a good part of each year. It will mean the necessity for continued prayer support for literally every facet of our ministry (no change here!) And of course, it will also mean building a financial support team which will enable us to take the Gospel to the fields white unto harvest.

Our prayerful request to you at this time is that you remain on our financial support team as partners with us in taking the Gospel to our nation, in order that our nation might continue to take the Gospel to the world. Also, if you are able and feel led of the Lord to give a gift toward our transition costs, this would be a great help.

All donations beginning today should be sent to New Hope Fellowship, PO Box 6100, Springdale AR 72766 until we are able to establish our own non-profit organization. Please continue to mark “Damrons” in the memo. Pastor Cliff Jenkins who has been a close friend for many years and is now our home Pastor, has set up a designated account for us. So your donations are still tax deductible.

Since we are pursuing this course without delay, we ask that you respond to us by email if you are able to remain on our support team or if you wish to join it. Please understand that any gift regardless of the amount is a significant contribution to this ministry.

As we look forward to a New Day of ministry, please accept our deepest thanks and appreciation for your prayers and support over the years.

It’s a New Day,

Alan & Sarah Damron

You've Got To Start Somewhere!

Just how many times do we start something new in our life time? Of course, it will vary per individual, but everyone of us can chart our lives by the "Starts" in them. There was the day you escape the warmth of the womb and started life on planet earth for "starters". Then without warning the host of first's just seemed to fall rapidly in line: first time to crawl, first time to rub spaghetti all in your hair, first steps, first black eye, first day of school, first F on your homework, first crush...kiss, first car...wreck, and on and on...you get the idea!
Sarah and I have just started something new...it is really a first in many ways. As of March 15, 2009 we launched "New Day Network Ministry". It is a non profit evangelistic ministry which seeks to evangelize, enrich and expand the Kingdom work of Jesus Christ especially in the pioneer areas of the United States, beginning in the state of Montana. In some ways this is a return to our early days of "on the road" evangelism, but it is new due to the expanded approach that we are going to take in trying to create partnerships between churches from the southern states with new and already established churches in pioneer areas.
There is a great deal to do when you "start something new" and right now as we lay down the foundational structure to this new ministry we will need to recruit people who will come along side as partners. We have always been blessed by a host of people who join our vision for taking the Good News of Jesus Christ to our lost world. In addition to people, we will need to raise funds to cover personal expenses, travel expenses, ministry expenses and all of this with an additional "start up" fund to cover the beginning expenses. And if you are interested in joining our financial support team please send your gifts to: New Hope Fellowship PO Box 6100 Springdale, Ar 72766. Make your checks out to New Hope Fellowship and then mark the memo line: The Damrons. This will change once we have our own non profit set up.
"The Harvest truly is plenteous" and God is calling us to "the fields that are already white unto harvest"... let's go together and see what great thing God will do through us for His glory. You've got to start somewhere... so let's start together! It really is a New Day!
